"Getting Ready to Dialogue" NSO Session

As part of New Student Orientation 2024, Dr. J. Larry Jameson joined Katharine Strunk (Dean of the Graduate School of Education and the George and Diane Weiss Professor of Education), Mark Wolff (Morton Amsterdam Dean, Professor Division of Restorative Dentistry) and Beth Winkelstein (Deputy Provost, Eduardo D. Glandt President’s Distinguished Professor of Bioengineering and Professor of Neurosurgery) for a virtual session addressing some of the findings and recommendations of the University Task Force on Antisemitism and the Presidential Commission on Countering Hate and Building Community. The session introduced students to countering hate through dialogue and understanding. Penn experts, including staff and students from the Paideia program, provide opportunities for self-reflection and general strategies for participating in dialogue and speaking from one’s own perspective.
