Alumni Award of Merit Gala

The 89th Annual Alumni Award of Merit Gala took place on Friday, November 15 at The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Congratulations go to the 2024 Alumni Award of Merit recipients who each receive the highest honor presented by Penn Alumni:  Belinda Bentzin Buscher, C’92; Ira Hillman, C’92, W’92; Sally Jutabha Michaels, WG’90, PAR’19, ’21, ’23; Jennifer Krevitt, C’86, L’92, PAR’22; and Marc Morial, C’80, PAR’24, along with Young Alumni Award of Merit recipient Deepak Prabhakar, ENG’11, GEN’12.  

 The Creative Spirit Award was presented to Robert Cort, C’68, G’70, WG’74; the Penn Alumni Social Impact Award to Desiree Martinez, C’95; and the Faculty Award of Merit to Andre Dombrowski.

 Alumni Class Awards included the David N. Tyre Award for Excellence in Class Communications, which was presented to the Class of 2004, and the Class Award of Merit went to the Class of 1974 and Class of 1989.  The Alumni Club Awards included the Alumni Club Award of Merit presented to the Penn Club of Boston; the Innovation Award to the Penn Club of Hong Kong; the Engagement Award to the Penn Club of Switzerland; and the Community Service Award to the Penn Club of Philadelphia.

 It is with tremendous gratitude that we recognize these amazing individuals, clubs, and classes who have dedicated their time and talent to Penn in extraordinary ways.  Their efforts help make the Penn community more vibrant, welcoming, and exciting way for so many alumni, parents, and friends to stay connected with the University.
